Wrap Around Your Finger Metal Clay Ring

With Marie Gniazdowski

Bio: A North Tonawanda, New York native, and now Prescott Valley resident, Marie Gniazdowski started creating and selling art work before she even began grade school. She felt inspired by her father who was a master welder, and chose to direct her artistic energies into metal work and jewelry design. After obtaining her Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in design, she began exhibiting and selling her work at nationally known craft shows. From there, she earned her Master of Fine Art Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology’s School for American Craftsmen, in Rochester New York. Soon after, Marie began freelance designing and model making for the jewelry industry. Now a Mountain Artist Guild and Granite Mountain Jewelry Artist member, she is also a Certified Senior Silver Art Clay Instructor for the Aida Company in Japan.

“WRAP THIS AROUND YOUR FINGER” RING PROJECT
Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Cost $60 Members and $70 Non-Members, plus $40 to be paid to Marie morning of class for supplies

This is a beginner class that you can use to add to your fine silver clay skills or simply
make a one-of-a-kind ring. No prior experience needed!

In this class you will learn how to pre-determine clay shrinkage so that the ring you make shrinks to the appropriate size. You will learn how to texture the clay, roll a clay snake, wrap it around a mandrel and add details. Then it will be torch fired, polished,
and have patina added (if desired).

You will go home with a one-of-a-kind finished piece of jewelry!

In this class you will be provided with 7 grams of Art Clay Silver, handouts, various consumables, and all necessary materials to complete the project. The tools provided during the class project will remain the property of the instructor. Since we will be
working small with these snakes and balls, magnification would help (such as over the counter reader glasses). Also, short finger nails will make this project a little easier.

This is approximately a 6 hour class.

Classes are kept to a maximum of 5 students to ensure students of sufficient individual attention.

Please bring a lunch, drinks and snack to class.
