Rob Strain’s love affair with light and form began when he was given a camera and darkroom equipment as an early teen. Since then he has been published in many magazines, written the e-book How to Photograph Sand Dunes of the American Southwest and he now writes the Photoboomers newsletter, with the objective to “Enhance the Better Half of Life Through Photography”.
His portfolio reflects influences or Ansel Adams’ tone system and the challenges of tooth shades as an Accredited Cosmetic Dentist. The play of light and reflected color are dominant themes. The golden proportion as seen in works of Renaissance masters helps define “beauty” and certainly affects his eye for a scene.
