Originally from England, I moved to Phoenix in 1987 and have since become a US citizen. I am active and like to ski, hike, and backpack.
Painting allows me to pause and reflect on my journey through life. I am able to better appreciate the colors and beauty of the natural world and connect with it on a deeper level. Watercolor is my choice of medium; the wet-in-wet interaction of colors is fascinating and stimulating in all of its permutations. I am now exploring painting in acrylic, using gels and pastes to create texture, mixing the color directly on the paper to form a ground on which I can then explore my subject. Collage is also beginning to play a role.
