My true development as an artist started in Florence, Italy while completing my Masters of Arts degree. I received grants, scholarships, and fellowships for the continuation of my schooling while living in Florence for a three year period.
My work as a sculptor is the development of a body of abstract figurative sculptures in silicon bronze. Limiting myself to the human figure as my source of inspiration and stylistic direction, I have labored to reveal a personal range of artistic responses. The figure is depicted in fragments that suggest realistic as well as abstract form. I choose this method of representation because it emulates my beliefs regarding our fellow man.
