Creating Luminous and Impressionistic Watercolor Paintings

With Betty Carr

Through focusing on the study of light and shadow on form, we will be creating gorgeous landscapes and architectural paintings in watercolor. As a Master in the American Impressionist Society, Carr will emphasize the “how to” in achieving dynamic paintings using confident, loose, and impressionistic brush strokes in watercolors. Carr will discuss composition, color, value, atmospheric light, and architectural and landscape elements while developing and achieving dynamic paintings. Through individual instruction and critiques, students will develop their own personal painting style and approaches with watercolor. Photos will be provided but students are welcome to bring their favorites of landscape and architectural subjects with great light. Come and enjoy painting light in watercolors.
