Art Clay Metal Heart Project

With Marie Gniazdowski

Art Clay Silver is a soft supple clay composed of fine silver powder, an organic binder (cellulose) and moisture. In this class you will create a special one-of-a-kind, hollow, textured “Heart” pendant using fine silver clay. Individuals will use a Sculpey clay heart shaped form, over which to mold the textured silver clay. We add a flat back after filling the hollow interior with a heart, and leaves. When done, students will torch fire, polish and add an oxidized patina (if desired).

This class will teach techniques used for creating jewelry at the beginner to intermediate level. Each student will take home a finished piece of jewelry!

No previous skills or talent required!

You will be provided with 7 grams of Art Clay Silver, hand-outs, misc. consumables, and all necessary materials to complete the project. The tools provided during the class project remain the property of the instructor. Since we will be working small with these hearts and vines, magnification will help (such as over the counter reading glasses). Also, short finger nails will make this project easier.

This is an all day class 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Classes are restricted to a maximum of 5 students to ensure students of sufficient student attention.

Instructor will provide all materials for $40.00 and paid directly to her on the morning of class. Please make sure to bring lunch, drinks, etc.
