Description of workshop:
LOOSEN UP! TECHNIQUES FOR CREATING LOOSER AND LIVELIER OILS: The focus will be on utilizing methods to help overcome tightness and fear as we seek more spontaneous and freer results. Classic fundamentals will be emphasized but in a more impressionistic way. Brush and palette knife techniques will be explored as we deal with edges, values, color choices and finishing strokes, Be prepared to paint bolder and more intuitively. You can choose landscapes, still lifes, animals or florals. Bring photos of things that excite you. Bring your spirit of adventure and creativity!
Materials List:
small canvases or panels( 8x10, 9x12 or 11x 14); Brushes, hoghair no. 6, 8, 10; table or French easle,(aluminum tripod table easle will work fine); odorless turp or Gamsol; sketch book; palette, I like the Masterson 12 x16 plastic blue and white box; paint, I use Cad yellow light, cad orange, cad red, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, sap green, and a big tube of white. Gamblin and Graham are good.
Brief Bio:
Savannah's works and techniques have been featured in AMERICAN ARTISTS MAGAZINE, WILDLIFE ART MAGAZINE AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS' book, "100 WAYS TO PAINT THE LANDSCAPE". She is a SIGNATURE MEMBER of the AMERICAN IMPRESSIONIST SOCIETY, AND A JURIED MEMBER of the OIL PAINTERS OF AMERICA. She has conducted workshops and classes throughout the West for over 18 years and she has taught painting at Yavapai College. Shows include Oil Painters of America Nat'ls, American Impressionist Society Nat'ls, Phippen Museum Shows, Cowgirl Up!, Sedona Art Center Annuals, Empire 100, The Best and the Brightest, and Arizona Plein Air Painters Shows.
